I have been a lifetime member of the St. Paul Parish and an alumnus of St. Paul School. I am married to my beautiful wife and we have 2 daughters. I have 2 grandsons & 2 grandpuppies!
This year marks my 40th anniversary of when I began coaching. I began as a junior in high school @ Antonian College Preparatory as a volunteer coach at the NW YMCA. I fell in love with coaching & have been doing it ever since.
I was blessed to go back & coach at Antonian in 1987 & was part of the coaching staff that helped to break the longest losing streak on record in San Antonio at the time. I was also blessed to be on the coaching staff in 1991 when Antonian went undefeated, 10-0 & captured the TCIL 3A State Championship in football. I coached running backs & linebackers and 5 of his 8 position players were named All-State in football. In 2016, the 25th anniversary of winning the State Championship, the members of that team & coaching staff were inducted into the Antonian College Preparatory Athletic Hall of Fame. I was the assistant head coach for the baseball team that went to the state finals in 1992. I have coached football, basketball, soccer & baseball at the high school level.
I was the first Head Football Coach for the St. Paul Royals Football Team. I have coached football & baseball at the middle school level for St. Paul & St. Luke’s.
Along with my best friend, the late Coach John Vara (another St. Paul Alumnus) we coached on several of these teams together and for the Semi-Pro San Antonio Predators football team.
I am dedicating this football season to the memory of my best friend, Coach John Vara who recently passed away in March, 2020.
I am blessed to be back at home in the “Royal Palace” & be part of the “Royal Family”!
